Kinncy H. Gourdet is heading to the state hospital and not to trial. The 17-year-old Palm Coast man was charged with second degree murder in the stabbing death of his mother at their home in November of last year.

A DeLand man wanted on an attempted second-degree murder charge in a May shooting was arrested Thursday.

Investigators were still working a homicide in DeLand late Thursday night.
